Cobalt & Corundum - Jennifer Jansen

In Pijnacker – a town in the Netherlands, where the city is never far away – I started making jewellery in 2014. Inspired by traveling, nature, history and art – and with a passion for craftsmanship and other well-made products – Cobalt + Corundum* was founded.

I use traditional and ancient goldsmith techniques and each piece of jewellery is created with the greatest care and attention to detail, and it embraces the natural imperfections arising from the craft of craftsmanship.

In addition to a Goldsmithing degree I have a DGI / FEEG certificate (Dutch Gemological Institute) and a degree in Cultural Heritage with a minor in Conservation. After having worked at a jewelry store with goldsmith- and repair shop for seven years, Cobalt + Corundum was founded in 2014.

* Cobalt. Silver metal with atomic number 2, a bright blue color. Corundum. Mineral with chemical formula α-Al2O3. Derived from the Hindi word kurand, or from the Sanskrit kuruvinda that means “ruby”.
